Head Resourcing's private banking client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Specialist to join their dynamic IT Operations team.
About the Role:
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless performance of this client's core applications, including Oracle Products, a Document Management System, Managed File Transfer Integration, and their CRM. The role involves a mix of daily batch management, requirements analysis, change design, configuration and release management, environment management, oversight of third-party suppliers, and incident/problem management (level 1 & 2 technical support). This role will offer you the opportunity to be involved with support and development work as they continue to innovate.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer multiple core application platforms through cutting-edge configuration, database management, parameterisation, and scripting.
Work closely with stakeholders and change teams to shape requirements for core platform change requests, conducting impactful analysis and design.
Design and implement robust solutions that enhance performance, supportability, security, and resilience.
Identify and swiftly troubleshoot issues and incidents in core applications, proposing effective resolutions.
Provide top-notch 1st and 2nd line application support to colleagues, offering functional subject matter expertise and internal consultancy.
Oversee third-party IT suppliers, including hosting and managed service partners, ensuring top-tier service delivery.
Manage core application configuration and environments with precision.
Support the operation of key IT controls, including role-based access control and release management.
Participate in daily batch operations and regular security patching, showcasing your dedication even outside of standard working hours.
Focus on long-term business and technology objectives to identify opportunities for investment and continual improvement.Required Knowledge & Skills:
Familiarity with core banking platforms.
Understanding of UK payment mechanisms, including relevant UK regulations and directives.
Proficiency in SQL with experience in database design and managing large data sets.
Excellent knowledge of Oracle applications, databases, and tools (including PL/SQL) is beneficial.
Experience with service delivery frameworks such as ITIL.
Design and implementation experience in database, middleware, and API.
Strong understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Exceptional attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
