Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom
Construction
Immediate Start
£60k - £70k Annual
Full-Time
An established construction consultancy is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its Nottingham team and lead major public-sector infrastructure and built-environment commissions. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager with strong pre-contract experience, confident stakeholder-management skills and a detailed understanding of public-authority governance.

The Senior Project Manager will work closely with public bodies, consultants and multidisciplinary project teams, providing leadership during the earliest and most influential stages of a programme. This Senior Project Manager position is particularly suited to someone who understands formal governance, programme set-up and structured decision-making. As a senior member of the consultancy, the Senior Project Manager will also support colleagues and maintain strong client relationships.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

The Senior Project Manager's role

The Senior Project Manager will lead infrastructure and built-environment projects through feasibility, business-case, procurement and pre-construction stages. Duties will include establishing governance procedures, defining project controls, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing complex stakeholder groups within public authorities.

The Senior Project Manager will prepare programmes, risk registers, governance reports and procurement strategies while ensuring decisions are supported by clear information and appropriate approvals. You will chair meetings, manage consultants, monitor progress against key milestones and provide clients with practical, commercially informed advice.

The successful Senior Project Manager will have:

Substantial pre-contract project management experience within a construction consultancy.
Experience delivering public-sector infrastructure or built-environment programmes.
Strong stakeholder-management experience involving public authorities.
A relevant degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
Membership of, or progress towards, APM, RICS, CIOB or another relevant professional institution.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design and consultancy teams.
Knowledge of programme governance, procurement, risk management and project controls.
Wider sector experience may be considered, although applicants whose background is predominantly within education, healthcare, defence, nuclear or airports are unlikely to match the project portfolio.

In Return?

£60,000 - £70,000
Support towards professional chartership.
25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and loyalty leave.
Enhanced employer pension contribution.
Life assurance and company sick pay.
Structured training and leadership development.
Exposure to major public-sector infrastructure programmes.
Clear progression towards Associate Director level.
