A well-established construction consultancy is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its Birmingham team and take immediate responsibility for major residential developments. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager with strong consultancy experience to lead housing association and build-to-rent schemes ranging from approximately 150 to 400 units. The successful Senior Project Manager will manage projects through both pre-contract and post-contract stages, working closely with clients, consultants and contractors.
The Senior Project Manager will be expected to lead commissions confidently from the outset, maintaining control of programme, risk, quality and stakeholder communication. As the Senior Project Manager, you may also contribute to business development, client relationships and new opportunities where this is of interest.
You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.
The Senior Project Manager's role
The Senior Project Manager will lead residential projects from feasibility and design through procurement, construction and completion. Responsibilities will include preparing project programmes, managing risk registers, coordinating design teams, chairing project meetings and producing clear progress reports.
The Senior Project Manager will oversee consultant appointments, procurement activity, contract administration, change control and project close-out. You will manage housing association and build-to-rent schemes of between 150 and 400 units, ensuring that each project meets the client's programme, quality and commercial objectives.
There will also be scope to support bids, develop client relationships and assist with business development activities.
The Senior Project Manager
The successful Senior Project Manager will have:
Strong project management experience within a construction consultancy.
Experience leading residential, housing association or build-to-rent developments.
A relevant degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
MRICS, MAPM or MCIOB status would be preferred, although chartership support can be provided.
Experience across both pre-contract and post-contract stages.
Good knowledge of JCT contracts and residential procurement routes.
Strong leadership, client-facing and stakeholder-management skills.
