About the Role

Experienced in Disabled Facilities Grants and private sector housing? A high-impact contract, helping residents access essential adaptations that improve safety, independence and quality of life.You'll take ownership of DFG and housing adaptation casework, turning assessments into practical works that make homes safer, more accessible and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of DFG and private sector housing casework from assessment through to resolution.

Turn Occupational Therapist recommendations into clear, practical and deliverable works.

Inspect residential properties and produce accurate specifications, drawings and schedules of work.

Drive adaptation and improvement projects forward, keeping residents, contractors and internal teams aligned.

Resolve site issues quickly through confident communication with residents, contractors, architects and colleagues.

Spot risks, service failings and complex issues early, escalating where appropriate.

Support targeted enforcement activity when service needs require flexibility outside standard office hours.

About You

Proven experience administering Disabled Facilities Grants / DFGs.

Confident interpreting Occupational Therapist recommendations and converting them into suitable works.

Strong building construction knowledge, including schedules of work, building regulations and health and safety.

Experience completing financial means test assessments.

Sound knowledge of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act and the DFG process.

Skilled in residential surveying, specifications, drawings and schedules of work.

Able to manage adaptations and improvement projects with minimal supervision.

Clear, confident communicator who can work effectively with residents, contractors, architects and internal teams.

Highly organised, deadline-focused and able to manage multiple live cases.

Customer-focused, inclusive and sensitive to the needs of vulnerable adults, children and residents requiring adaptations.

Qualifications and training

Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health, or an equivalent housing-related qualification.

Recognised HHSRS assessor training.
