DFG Grants Officer – Hackney Council
Fox Morris Group are working to recruit a DFG Grants Officer
Experience:
* Experience in administering DFG’s and interpreting recommendations provided by an Occupational Therapist
* A knowledge of building construction and ability to draw up a schedule of works required for a disabled facility grant based on an inspection
* Experience of carrying out financial means test assessments
* A knowledge of the Housing, Grants Construction and Regeneration Act which governs the process of DFG’s.
* Experience of surveying residential properties and preparing specifications, drawings, and schedules of work.
* A strong understanding of building construction, building regulations, and health & safety
* Experience of managing adaptation or improvement projects, ideally including Disabled Facilities Grants
* The ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, architects, and internal teams, and to resolve issues on site.
* Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
* Excellent customer care and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusive and accessible design.
* A good knowledge of government benefits
* Experience of dealing with vulnerable adults and children
* Experience of lone working
