A leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial support to project teams, ensuring accurate commercial information, contractual compliance, and the identification and realisation of commercial opportunities.
Responsibilities of Quantity Surveyor:
* Ensure robust, accurate, and timely cost and value reporting at project and business unit level
* Produce accurate cash flow reporting, monthly CVRs, cost plans, and commercial plans
* Carry out cost management, forecasting, and earned value analysis
* Manage subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting
* Prepare applications for payment and liaise with clients and third parties on variations, claims, and additional payments
* Ensure supply chain is engaged under correct contractual terms and conditions
* Proactively advise site teams on cost management and share best practice
* Support compliance with contractual and commercial governance requirements
* Build and maintain effective client relationships and work closely with site management teams
Essential Requirements for Quantity Surveyor:
* Previous experience in the construction industry in a commercial role
* HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
* Familiarity with ICE and NEC forms of contract and knowledge of Construction Law
* Proven experience in commercial management and subcontractor procurement
* Strong knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis
* Experience in estimation and cost analysis
* Excellent communication, numerical, and IT skills including Microsoft Office
* Strong organisation and time management skills
Desirable:
* Member of RICS or working towards
* CSCS card
