Mechanical Construction Manager – London

At Dornan we are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Construction Manager to join a Data Centre Project in London. This is an opportunity to play a key role on a high‑profile site, leading Mechanical delivery and helping drive project excellence from start to completion.

Your Team

You'll join a hardworking, ambitious, and supportive team where your ideas matter and your development is genuinely prioritised. At Dornan, we invest in long‑term career growth through structured progression pathways and continuous training support.

Responsibilities

In this full‑time, fixed‑term role, you'll work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate and deliver mechanical works to the highest standards.

You'll help plan and sequence activities, support supervision of site teams, and ensure all works meet programme requirements, technical specifications, and Dornan's safety standards.

Your work will span planning, overseeing labour and materials, monitoring progress, maintaining quality and compliance, and ensuring safe, efficient site operations.

You'll be involved in everything from short‑term lookaheads and cost awareness to supporting commissioning, handover, and collaboration with subcontractors, suppliers, and client teams.

You will also play a key part in maintaining site discipline, supporting apprentices, ensuring equipment and materials are effectively managed, and escalating any issues that impact productivity or scope.

About You

Your Experience

You bring proven experience as an Mechanical Construction Manager on Healthcare projects.

You have strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services – including power distribution, lighting, containment, fire alarm, and life safety systems – and the capability to manage subcontractors, workforce planning, and programme delivery in a fast-moving environment.

You take ownership, communicate clearly, lead effectively, and are committed to continuous professional development.

Your Qualifications

A relevant Mechanical trade background or a third‑level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field

SMSTS or equivalent safety‑management certification

Appropriate and current health and safety training (e.g. Safe Pass / CSCS / equivalent)
