Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Blackpool to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Teacher for a long-term opportunity. This is an exciting role for a passionate practitioner who is committed to helping children thrive during this crucial transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1.
The successful candidate will join a nurturing and inclusive school environment where high-quality teaching, creativity, and pupil wellbeing are at the heart of everything they do. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, promoting excellent progress, and fostering a love of learning within a vibrant Year 1 classroom.
Your new role

Full-time Year 1 Teacher position
Planning and delivering creative, engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
Supporting pupils as they transition from EYFS into more structured learning
Creating an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
Assessing, monitoring and tracking pupil progress
Working closely with colleagues, parents and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for all pupils
Promoting positive behaviour and high expectations throughout the classroomWhat you'll need to succeed

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1
Strong understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and phonics teaching
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
A nurturing and child-centred approach to teaching and learning
Commitment to raising attainment and supporting every child to achieve their potentialWhat you'll get in return
