We are recruiting for a Multiskilled Engineer on a full time and permanent basis in Bromsgrove.

Salary: £36,000-£44,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: 35 hours per week (hours to be completed between 7:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, and between 7:00am and 2:00pm on Friday)

The Role

As a Multiskilled Engineer, you will be involved in the build, refurbishment, testing and commissioning of specialist machines. The role will include both workshop-based work and site-based work, with the balance changing depending on workload and project requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly of machines, with a mechanical bias.
Complete wiring to control panels and support with basic pneumatics and hose making, with training provided where required.
Undertake general workshop duties including drilling, tapping, grinding, using hand tools, drill presses and lathes.
Disassemble, clean and refurbish old machines, pumps and valves.
Work safely with cleaning chemicals as part of refurbishment and maintenance tasks.
Commission and test machines prior to delivery or installation.
Carry out fault finding and support problem-solving on machinery and equipment.
Provide customer training and machine demonstrations when required.
Attend customer sites as workload dictates, including occasional overnight stays and limited overseas travel.

Skills and Experience Required

Previous experience as a workshop engineer, service engineer, maintenance engineer or similar hands-on engineering role.
Strong mechanical skills, with the ability to support electrical assembly and basic wiring tasks.
Ability to read and work from mechanical and electrical drawings.
Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Comfortable working in both a workshop environment and on customer sites.
Willingness to travel when required, including occasional overnight stays and occasional European or worldwide travel.
