Salary: £30,000-£38,000, depending on experience

Junior Estimator Job Overview
Assist with preparing competitive tenders from construction drawings and specifications
Measure and take off quantities from technical and construction drawings
Support the preparation of rates and estimates under the guidance of senior Estimators
Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
Assist with reviewing tender documentation and preparing submissions
Raise technical queries with clients and design teams where required
Support the management of multiple live tenders at different stages
Attend tender review and project handover meetings
Develop an understanding of commercial risks and value-engineering opportunities
Assist with the handover of successful tenders to construction delivery teams
Develop technical and commercial knowledge through practical experience and mentoring
Junior Estimator Job Requirements
HNC, HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
Relevant construction industry experience may also be considered
Placement, trainee or site experience within construction, groundworks or reinforced concrete would be advantageous
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail
Strong communication and organisational skills
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to manage priorities and work to deadlines
Ability to work effectively as part of a commercial team
Based within a commutable distance of Skelmersdale
