SEN Teaching Assistant (Makaton Experience Essential) - Woodford
£100-£115 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | ASAP / September Start
Do you have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and confidence using Makaton to help pupils communicate and thrive?
We're recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Woodford that supports children and young people with a range of complex learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated and nurturing team where every member of staff plays a vital role in helping pupils reach their full potential.
This role would suit someone who is patient, compassionate, and passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
The Role:
Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs
Using Makaton throughout the school day to support communication and engagement (essential)
Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), speech and language needs, learning disabilities, and other complex needs
Working alongside teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning and communication strategies
Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive social interactions
Supporting pupils with personal care where required
Creating a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environmentWe're looking for someone who:
Has previous experience working in an SEN school, specialist provision, or similar setting
Is confident using Makaton to support communication (essential)
Has experience supporting pupils with Autism and complex learning needs
Is patient, caring, resilient, and able to build strong relationships
Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team
Is passionate about helping every child achieve their individual goalsWhat's on Offer:
Competitive daily rate of £100-£115 per day
