Uniform Education is recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEMH school in SM5 for a committed and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils who require additional emotional, social and behavioural support, helping them to achieve both academically and personally.

About the School

This specialist setting supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom also have additional needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The school takes a highly therapeutic and holistic approach to education, placing a strong emphasis on nurture, wellbeing and personal development. Staff work hard to build positive relationships with pupils, creating a safe and supportive environment where they can develop confidence, resilience and the skills needed for everyday life.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

* Support pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs in the classroom and around the school

* Build strong, positive relationships that encourage engagement and emotional regulation

* Support learning through differentiated activities and one-to-one or small group interventions

* Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence

* Promote positive behaviour using consistent strategies

* Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and therapists to support individual learning and behaviour plans

* Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

About You

We're looking for someone who:

* Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs

* Is patient, resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations

* Has strong behaviour management skills and can build positive relationships with pupils

* Is passionate about making a difference to young people's lives

* Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues and families

* Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply through Uniform Education
