We are working with an established precision engineering business based in Corby, operating within a manufacturing environment where quality and accuracy are at the heart of everything they do. The site has a strong reputation for producing precision components to tight tolerances, with a stable, long-standing production team.
This is a days-only role, Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm, with no weekend working. As a Manual Precision Engineer, you will be operating manual milling and turning machines to produce components from engineering drawings, working to tight tolerances and consistently high standards of quality.
This role would suit an experienced manual machinist who takes pride in their work and enjoys the satisfaction of producing precise, high-quality components. Responsibilities of a Manual Precision Engineer:
Operating manual milling and turning machines to produce precision components
Working accurately from engineering drawings and specifications
Producing components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards
Carrying out in-process and final quality checks using precision measuring equipment
Setting and adjusting machines as required for different jobs
Working closely with the wider production team to meet schedules
Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment
Skills & Qualifications of a Manual Precision Engineer:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in manual milling or turning
Confident reading and working from engineering drawings
Experience using precision measuring equipment
A keen eye for detail and a quality-focused approach
No formal qualifications required – practical experience is what matters most
Benefits of a Manual Precision Engineer:
£18.00 per hour (approx. £37,440 per annum based on a 40-hour week)
Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm – days only, no weekends
34 days holiday including bank holidays
