Are you an experienced Manual Machinist looking to join a well-established engineering company in Ely. We are recruiting for a skilled individual to join a busy workshop, producing high-quality precision-engineered components.
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am – 5:00pm | Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and operate manual lathes and milling machines.
* Manufacture precision-engineered components from engineering drawings.
* Inspect and measure finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
* Select the appropriate tooling and materials for each job.
* Carry out routine machine adjustments and basic machine maintenance.
* Deburr and finish machined components to a high standard.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
* Report faults, defects, or quality concerns promptly.
* Support continuous improvement within the workshop.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience as a Manual Machinist.
* Strong knowledge of manual lathes and milling machines.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
* Competent using measuring equipment, including verniers, micrometers, and gauges.
* Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
* Good understanding of health and safety within an engineering workshop.
* Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and develop.
