Asbestos Analyst

Essential work. Trusted expertise. Done properly — every time.

Let’s be clear — asbestos analysis isn’t just about samples, air tests and paperwork.

It’s about protecting people, helping projects move forward safely, and providing clients with results they can trust.

At Lucion, we don’t see asbestos work as a box-ticking exercise. We deliver accurate, reliable analytical services that help clients understand risk and make informed decisions — protecting people, buildings and communities across the UK.

We’re a purpose-driven, beyond-net-zero business operating across multiple sectors worldwide, and we take pride in combining technical expertise with a professional, people-focused approach.

We’re currently looking for an Asbestos Analyst to join our Hazardous Materials team in Birmingham. This is a field-based role where your knowledge, attention to detail and judgement will play a key part in delivering safe, compliant outcomes for our clients.

If you care about quality, accuracy and doing things the right way, you’ll feel at home here.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a practical, varied role where your expertise directly supports safer buildings and successful projects.

You will:

* Carry out asbestos air monitoring, background monitoring, reassurance monitoring and 4-stage clearance testing.

* Complete airborne fibre counting and contractor inspections in line with current legislation and industry guidance.

* Produce accurate reports and maintain high-quality records using our digital systems.

* Provide professional support and technical advice to clients, contractors and site teams.

* Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to Lucion’s high standards.

About You

You understand the responsibility that comes with asbestos analysis and take pride in delivering work you can stand behind.

You’ll ideally have:

* BOHS P403 and P404 qualifications (or equivalent RSPH qualifications/Certificate of Competence).

* A strong working knowledge of HSG248 and current asbestos legislation.

* Experience carrying out asbestos analytical work within commercial environments.

* A full UK manual driving licence and the flexibility to travel when required.

* The ability to work independently while being part of a professional, supportive team.

What You'll Get in Return

We believe great work starts with looking after the people who deliver it.

You’ll benefit from:

* £1,000 joining bonus for experienced Asbestos Analysts who apply directly.

* Paid travel time as part of your 40-hour working week, typically worth £3,000–£4,000 annually, plus working away allowances where applicable.

* Healthcare Cash Plan, Techscheme vouchers, and access to a reward platform offering wellbeing support, cycle-to-work benefits and discounts at over 800 retailers.

* Enhanced family leave, the option to buy additional holiday, ongoing training and development, flexible working and supportive managers who understand the realities of field-based roles.

Why Lucion?

Because accuracy matters here.

Because your expertise is valued, not rushed.

And because you want to work for a business that takes safety, quality and people seriously.

If you’re an asbestos professional looking for a role where your work makes a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.

As part of our commitment to safety, trust and doing things properly, the successful candidate will be required to complete a DBS check before joining the business.
