Asbestos Surveyor / Analyst (Dual-Trained) – Birmingham
Essential work. Trusted expertise. Done properly — every time.
Let’s be upfront — asbestos surveying and analysis isn’t just another job.
It’s highly skilled work that requires accuracy, technical knowledge and a strong sense of responsibility. Every survey you complete, every sample you analyse and every report you produce helps protect people, buildings and projects from asbestos risk.
At Lucion, we don’t approach asbestos management as a tick-box exercise. We deliver accurate, defensible surveying and analytical services that clients rely on to make informed decisions and manage risk properly.
We’re a purpose-driven, beyond-net-zero business working across multiple sectors worldwide, and we take pride in combining technical excellence with a calm, professional approach.
We’re currently looking for a Dual-Trained Asbestos Surveyor / Analyst to join our Hazardous Materials team in Birmingham. This is a field-based role offering variety, responsibility and the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects across the region.
If you value quality, accuracy and doing things the right way, you’ll feel at home here.
What You'll Be Doing
This is a varied, hands-on role where your expertise directly supports safer buildings and better decision-making.
You will:
* Carry out asbestos surveys including management, refurbishment, demolition and asbestos in the ground surveys.
* Undertake asbestos air monitoring, airborne fibre counting, contractor inspections and 4-stage clearance testing.
* Collect accurate site information using our digital systems and produce clear, comprehensive reports.
* Provide professional technical advice to clients, contractors and project teams.
* Maintain high standards of quality, safety and compliance in line with HSG248, HSG264 and current asbestos legislation.
* Represent Lucion professionally on client sites, building strong relationships through reliable and trusted service delivery.
About You
You know the responsibility that comes with asbestos work and take pride in delivering accurate, high-quality results.
You’ll ideally have:
* BOHS P402, P403 and P404 qualifications (or equivalent RSPH qualifications/Certificates of Competence).
* Experience working as a dual-trained Asbestos Surveyor / Analyst.
* A strong working knowledge of HSG248, HSG264 and current asbestos regulations.
* The ability to work independently, manage your workload and use sound technical judgement.
* A full UK manual driving licence and flexibility to travel across the Birmingham area and wider region when required.
What You'll Get in Return
We look after our people so they can focus on delivering great work.
You’ll benefit from:
* £1,000 joining bonus for experienced Asbestos Surveyors and Analysts who apply directly.
* Paid travel time as part of your 40-hour working week, typically worth £3,000–£4,000 annually, plus working away allowances where applicable.
* Healthcare Cash Plan, Techscheme vouchers and access to a reward platform offering wellbeing support, cycle-to-work benefits and discounts at over 800 retailers.
* Enhanced family leave, the option to buy additional holiday, ongoing training and development, flexible working and supportive managers who understand field-based work.
