Quality Engineer

A growing manufacturer and innovator of bespoke machinery is looking to appoint a Quality Engineer to support the continued development of its manufacturing and assembly operations.

This is an opportunity for a Quality Engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, improving manufacturing processes and working closely with engineering and production teams. You'll play a key role in ensuring products meet customer expectations while helping the business strengthen its quality systems and continuous improvement culture.

As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in an organisation that designs and manufactures for customers across a range of industrial sectors. With a reputation for excellence and investment in both its products and people, they are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer who can help improve processes and support future growth.

The Role

Working closely with other teams in the business, you'll ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process. You'll investigate non-conformances, support new product development and help implement strong quality systems that improve efficiency, reduce waste and deliver consistent product quality.

Key Responsibilities as a Quality Engineer

* Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving techniques including 8D, 5 Whys and PFMEA.

* Develop, review and improve quality documentation, control plans and manufacturing procedures.

* Support New Product Introduction by ensuring products are designed for manufacture and quality.

* Drive continuous improvement projects to improve productivity, reduce costs and minimise waste.

* Provide technical support to production teams, helping resolve process issues and improve manufacturing performance.

* Coordinate cross-functional improvement activities across engineering, production and supply chain.

* Conduct internal audits and support customer and external audits.

* Support engineering change processes and ensure quality approval of design changes.

* Develop quality KPIs and present performance data to management.

* Maintain quality records and ensure compliance with company standards.

You'll need:

* Degree, HNC or HND in Engineering or a related discipline.

* Previous experience as a Quality Engineer within manufacturing or engineering.

* Strong knowledge of quality tools including FMEA, Control Plans and APQP.

* Experience using structured problem-solving techniques such as 8D, Fishbone and 5 Whys.

* Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

* Confident communicator who enjoys working across multiple departments.

* Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
