Job Title: SEN Primary Teacher - Full-Time

Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Primary Teacher to join a specialist primary school in Skelmersdale, supporting pupils aged 4-11 with a range of additional learning needs. This rewarding role involves delivering an engaging, personalised curriculum that enables every child to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum to meet individual learning needs
Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Develop, implement, and review Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets and personalised learning plans
Create a safe, structured, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes positive learning experiences
Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies to maximise achievement
Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, the SENCO, therapists, parents, and external professionals to support pupil development
Foster pupils' confidence, independence, communication, and social skills through positive relationships and consistent behaviour support strategies
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential)
Previous experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs, ideally within a primary setting
Strong understanding of a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech, language and communication difficulties
Ability to adapt the primary curriculum to meet the needs of individual learners
Excellent classroom management with a patient, flexible, and nurturing approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
