This role would suit someone with experience in SEN education, specialist colleges, care, healthcare, residential support, or community support, who is passionate about providing person-centred support.
Key Responsibilities
Support adults with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs.
Provide one-to-one and small group support throughout the college day.
Assist with personalised learning activities and independence programmes.
Encourage communication using approaches such as Makaton, symbols, communication boards, PECS, and other communication systems.
Support sensory activities and engagement opportunities.
Assist with personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, and changing, while maintaining dignity, respect, and choice.
Support mobility needs and the use of specialist equipment where required (training provided).
Work closely with tutors, therapists, and support teams to meet individual needs.
Encourage independence, confidence, and participation.
Build positive and respectful relationships with the adults you support.
Promote wellbeing, safeguarding, and inclusion at all times.About You
