We are seeking a compassionate and caring PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a team at an OUTSTANDING SEN school in Chester. As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with PMLD to achieve their educational and developmental goals. You will work closely with experienced SEN staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with PMLD to facilitate their access to the curriculum and engagement in classroom activities.
Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
Foster a warm and inclusive classroom atmosphere by promoting understanding and respect among students.
Collaborate closely with teachers and therapists to design and deliver effective strategies for managing complex needs and behaviors.
Assist in planning and organising sensory-friendly activities and sensory integration exercises.
Monitor and document student progress, sharing insights and observations with the teaching team and parents/guardians.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in working with children with PMLD.
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will have:

Experience working with children with PMLD or in a similar SEN setting is highly desirable.
Knowledge of PMLD and familiarity with evidence-based interventions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
