Wiring Technician
Location: Southam
Salary: £30,000 - £31,000 per annum
Hours: Full Time | Permanent
Are you an experienced Wiring Technician or Panel Wirer looking for a new opportunity with a well-established engineering company?
We are looking for a hands-on individual with a panel wiring or electrical assembly background who is keen to develop their skills. Full product training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity to join a growing business with long-term career prospects.
The Role
As a Wiring Technician, you will be responsible for building, wiring and testing a range of electrical, electronic and hydraulic assemblies to engineering drawings and quality standards.
Your duties will include:
Building and wiring electrical assemblies and valve packs.
Cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering and terminating wires and cables.
Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Fault finding using test equipment such as Fluke meters.
Wiring PCB boards and carrying out soldering where required.
Mechanical assembly work using hand tools.
Working from both electrical and, ideally, mechanical drawings.
Completing quality documentation and production records.
Maintaining high standards of workmanship and housekeeping.
Supporting the wider production team with assembly and warehouse duties when required.
What We're Looking For
We are keen to hear from candidates with experience in:
Panel wiring or electrical assembly.
Cutting, crimping, terminating and soldering cables.
Reading and understanding electrical drawings and schematics.
Electrical fault finding and testing using Fluke or similar equipment.
Using hand tools in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Desirable experience includes:
PCB board wiring and assembly.
Mechanical assembly experience.
Reading mechanical drawings.
Hydraulic assembly experience (training will be provided).
Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience in a wiring, panel wiring or electrical assembly role.
BTEC, HNC or equivalent electrical qualification is desirable, although relevant industry experience is equally valued.
We are not looking for degree-qualified engineers for this position.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new products and processes.
