Location: Poole
Contract Length: 6 Months (extension possible)
Pay Rate: £14.47 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an Wiring Technician to join a busy manufacturing and engineering team on a 6-month contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician with experience in electronics assembly, wiring, testing, and prototype builds to work on innovative products within a technical manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will support the manufacture, testing, repair, inspection, and development of electronic equipment while ensuring all work is completed to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture, test, repair, and inspect electronic equipment to relevant specifications and standards.
Manage assigned batches of products through manufacture, test, and repair processes.
Record and capture quality data accurately.
Carry out testing procedures using appropriate electronic test equipment.
Maintain detailed records of test results and inspections.
Assist with the creation and modification of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assembly documentation.
Work from prototype information to build new products and equipment.
Identify and report improvements to assembly processes and documentation.
Prepare completed equipment for dispatch.
Read and interpret schematic drawings and wiring diagrams.
Mechanically build and wire prototype projects, often from limited information.
Perform advanced wiring activities on prototype builds.
Record build improvements and provide technical solutions to manufacturing challenges.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with quality standards.
Requirements
Essential
C&G qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or significant relevant industry experience.
Experience in electronics assembly, wiring, testing, and inspection.
Ability to read and work from electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
Experience using electronic test equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to maintain accurate documentation and test records.
