Mechanical Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to play a key role in securing new business and supporting the successful delivery of mechanical installation and maintenance projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional who can accurately assess project requirements, prepare competitive tenders, and work closely with clients, suppliers, and operational teams to convert opportunities into profitable contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Review enquiries, specifications, drawings, and tender documentation
Conduct site surveys and assess project requirements
Prepare accurate cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions
Liaise with clients during the tender process and attend pre-contract meetings
Support contract handovers to project delivery teams
Maintain estimating records, pricing databases, and cost benchmarks
Contribute to business development and pipeline planning activities
About You
Essential
Proven experience in mechanical estimating within the building services or M&E sector
Strong understanding of mechanical installations and maintenance works
Excellent commercial awareness and cost-planning skills
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
A methodical and analytical approach to pricing work
Strong negotiation and communication skills
The ability to work independently and manage multiple tender submissions
A proactive mindset focused on accuracy, profitability, and client satisfaction
Desirable
Mechanical or Building Services qualification
Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of procurement and contract administration
