Academics (Rochester) are currently recruiting experienced and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistants with Team Teach training to support a range of inclusive SEN schools across South East London.
This is an excellent opportunity for compassionate, resilient and proactive individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a real difference to their educational journey.
You will be working within specialist and mainstream settings supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including ASD, PMLD, SLD and MLD, helping to create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups across primary settings
Use Team Teach strategies to support positive behaviour management
Assist with the delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions
Help create a calm, inclusive and structured classroom environment
Adapt resources and learning materials to meet individual needs
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and external professionals
Encourage pupils' social, emotional and academic development
About You
We are looking for individuals who are:
Team Teach trained (essential)
Experienced supporting children with SEN in primary or specialist settings
Confident working with ASD, PMLD, SLD and MLD learners
Calm, patient and resilient in challenging situations
Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
Proactive, reliable and committed to inclusive education
