QC Engineer / Senior QC Inspector (APQP & NPI)
Salary: £40,000 Hours: Monday–Friday (Days) - Redditch
Are you a detail‑driven Quality professional who enjoys hands‑on work, owning APQP activity, and supporting new projects from trial builds through to stable production? This is a great opportunity to join a forward‑thinking manufacturer where you’ll play a key role in NPI, metrology, and structured problem‑solving.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of quality for new tooling, trials, and customer programmes, ensuring robust APQP documentation and delivering clear, accurate dimensional reporting. This is a varied, technical role working closely with engineering teams, toolmakers, suppliers, and customer quality contacts.
Key Responsibilities
*
Lead APQP deliverables: Process Flows, PFMEA, Control Plans
*
Support NPI from trial builds through to production readiness
*
Produce dimensional inspection reports (drawings + CAD)
*
Use a wide range of metrology equipment: manual tools, optical, CMM, Romer arm
*
Program and run CMM routines using PC‑DMIS
*
Design/specify gauges and maintain gauge instructions
*
Create tool trial reports and feasibility studies
*
Liaise with customer engineering/quality teams and external toolmakers
*
Lead/support 8D investigations and corrective actions
*
Write clear SOPs and work instructions across moulding, plating, rework, and gauging
About You
*
Proven QC/Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing
*
Strong APQP knowledge (PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flows)
*
Confident interpreting engineering drawings and producing dimensional reports
*
Practical metrology experience including CMM and portable scanning arms
*
Understanding of gauge design principles
*
Strong communication skills with customers and suppliers
*
Structured problem‑solving experience (8D)
*
Able to produce clear, usable SOPs and work instructions
