Vehicle Technician

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable franchise-approved car dealer in Treforest, Rhondda Cynon Taf, seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their busy Service Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to develop their career as a Vehicle Technician within a well-established multi-franchise dealer group operating in South Wales for over 40 years.

Starting salary around £30,000+ per annum, depending on experience
Bonus scheme with potential earnings of £300+ per month
22 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, increasing to 25 days after 3 years

40-hour week on a 4-day rota, with a long weekend every week (Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, 7:00am-6:00pm)Duties of a Vehicle Technician:

Conduct fault diagnosis, including large engine-based work
Carry out routine servicing and repairs efficiently and accurately
Identify vehicle faults and report findings to the Workshop Controller
Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety, and manufacturer procedures
Maintain high standards of workmanship within a busy environment
Support team objectives and work towards set targets
Utilise diagnostic tools and techniques; an active MOT license is advantageous
Adhere to all safety protocols and manufacturer guidelinesRequirements of a Vehicle Technician:

Qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience post-qualification
Ideally qualified at Diagnostic or Master Technician level
Hold a valid UK driving licence
Ability to produce high-quality work under pressure
Strong team player with attention to detail
Motivated individual committed to ongoing professional development
