Teaching Assistant - Basingstoke
Prospero Teaching is recruiting an enthusiastic and dependable Teaching Assistant to support pupils in schools across the Basingstoke area. This role involves working closely with teachers to help create a positive learning environment and ensure pupils remain engaged and supported throughout the school day.
You will provide a combination of 1:1 support and small‑group assistance, helping pupils develop confidence, stay on task, and make progress in their learning. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a positive difference in education.
The Role:
Support teaching and learning within the classroom
Provide 1:1 support and assist with small‑group activities
Help pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons
Assist with classroom tasks, resources, and learning activities
Support behaviour management and positive routines
Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment
Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people
Patient, supportive, and confident in a classroom setting
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Adaptable and able to respond to different pupil needs
Reliable, proactive, and organised
Backgrounds in childcare, youth work, coaching, or education welcomed
Graduates looking to gain school experience encouraged to apply

Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Full‑time, term‑time
Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.66 per hour
Key Stages: Primary / Secondary
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
Experience working with children desirable
SEN experience beneficial but not essential
Safeguarding training can be provided
