Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Contract: Long Term to PermanentLong Term Futures are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner primary schools in Nuneaton.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils across Years 3 to 6, providing a mixture of 1:1 and small group intervention support for children with a range of additional needs including SEMH, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD and behavioural needs. You will work closely with the class teachers, SENCO and wider inclusion team to help pupils access learning, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes throughout the school day.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with SEND who is looking for a long-term role with the potential to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and additional learning needs
Delivering targeted small group interventions across Years 3 to 6
Supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom to maximise engagement in learning
Promoting positive behaviour using consistent, nurturing strategies
Supporting emotional regulation, social development and independence
Implementing strategies outlined within EHCPs and individual support plans
Adapting learning activities to meet pupils' individual needs
Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to monitor pupil progress
Building positive relationships that promote confidence, resilience and self-esteem

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent)
Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and behavioural needs
Experience delivering effective 1:1 and small group interventions
Good understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning strategies
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A calm, patient and resilient approach
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

Desirable Training & Experience:

Team Teach or Positive Handling Training
Autism Awareness
ADHD Awareness
Trauma-Informed Practice
Emotion Coaching
Zones of Regulation
Makaton
Sensory Processing or Sensory Circuits Training
Understanding of Neurodiversity and Inclusive Practice
