About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and experienced HR Advisor to support the delivery of people-focused processes that align with organisational objectives. This is a varied generalist role where you will provide day-to-day HR support, guidance, and expertise across a range of people matters including employee relations, absence management, learning and development, and HR operations.

You will play a key role in ensuring best practice, consistency, and fairness in people management, while contributing to wider strategic HR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Generalist HR

Provide proactive advice and support to managers on employee relations matters, HR policies, wellbeing, flexible working, and absence management
Manage an employee relations caseload, including investigations and hearings, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice
Coach and support line managers to ensure consistent and fair application of policies including disciplinaries, grievances, and performance management
Monitor and analyse absence trends, supporting managers to effectively manage attendance and wellbeing
Provide guidance to employees and managers on pay, terms and conditions, and HR processes
Contribute to the development and review of HR policies and procedures
Draft HR correspondence including letters, contracts, and reports accurately and within agreed timescales
Maintain and update HR systems, ensuring accurate data and reporting for trend analysis

Projects & Development

Support strategic HR projects including wellbeing initiatives, employee engagement, and learning and development
Assist with change management processes such as restructures, TUPE, and redundancies
Keep up to date with employment legislation and ensure compliance in HR practices
Design and deliver HR training to upskill managers

Operations & Administration

Liaise with payroll providers regarding starters, leavers, and contractual changes
Support the coordination and delivery of induction programmes
Ensure effective record-keeping and reporting through case management systems

Recruitment Support

Provide guidance to the recruitment function to ensure alignment between HR and recruitment processes
Support recruitment activities including issuing contracts, pre-employment checks, and onboarding
Assist with work experience and volunteer processes

About You

CIPD qualified or working towards (desirable)
Proven experience in a generalist HR role
Strong employee relations experience with the ability to manage complex cases
Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience of supporting change initiatives and HR projects (desirable)
