An opportunity has arisen for a Support Worker to join a well-established children's residential care provider, delivering high-quality support to children and young people.
As a Support Worker, you will be supporting children and young people in a residential setting to promote safety, independence, emotional wellbeing, and positive daily living skills.
This role offers minimum salary of £29,000and benefits.
You Will Be Responsible For
Supporting children and young people with day-to-day routines and personal development
Involve children in their care, respecting their choices, needs, and wishes.
Understand each child’s background, reflect on practice, and maintain positive professional relationships.
Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
Build professional, person-centred relationships as Key Worker.
Support daily living needs, including:
Hygiene, appearance, and personal care
Healthy nutrition choices
Medication administration per policy
Attending appointments
Reporting health, safety, or welfare concerns
Encouraging activities, leisure, trips, and holidays
Following behaviour support and risk assessments
Accurate record keeping and reporting
What We Are Looking For
Previous experience as a Residential Support Worker, Support Worker, Keyworker, Residential Childcare Worker, Children’s Support Worker, Therapeutic Care Practitioner, Support Practitioner, Children’s Care Worker, Children’s Care Assistant, Care Assistant, Childcare Worker or in a similar role.
Experience working with children and young people in a care, residential, or support environment
Relevant health and social care qualification or willingness to work towards one.
Understanding of children’s development, trauma, and the impact of adverse experiences is beneficial
Awareness of safeguarding practices and commitment to child protection
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport
