This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone with a compassionate nature and a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
In this role, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including autism spectrum conditions, speech and language difficulties, social-emotional needs, and complex learning challenges. Alongside teachers and therapists, you will help provide a secure and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported.
This SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is resilient, empathetic, and passionate about making a meaningful impact on children’s lives.
Key Responsibilities for SEN Teaching Assistant:
Provide 1:1 and group support following EHCPs and individual learning plans
Assist pupils with communication, sensory needs, and emotional regulation
Support personal care tasks when required
Promote independence, confidence, and life skills
Help the class teacher maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
Encourage pupil engagement, progress, and well-being
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN
A calm, patient, and understanding approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Ability to follow safeguarding procedures at all times
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
