Lead Mechanical Engineer
Runcorn | £55,000-£65,000 + 15% Bonus + 15% Pension + Excellent Benefits
A rare opportunity to join a global engineering business working on technically challenging projects with real-world impact. Recent projects include developing an innovative pilot plant for greener hydrogen production, automating labour-intensive manufacturing processes, and designing bespoke production equipment.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll lead projects from concept through to manufacture, combining mechanical design, product development and manufacturing engineering to deliver innovative solutions.
The Role
Lead mechanical design and development projects from concept through to manufacture.
Develop machinery, automation and manufacturing solutions.
Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM) and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work closely with manufacturing, suppliers and project teams to deliver practical engineering solutions.
About You
Experience in mechanical design, manufacturing engineering or product development.
Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM).
Background in machinery, automation, robotics, fabrication, welding or special purpose equipment.
Degree qualified or time-served with relevant engineering experience.
