Lead Mechanical Engineer – London – Healthcare Project
We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a major Healthcare Project in London. This is an opportunity to play a key role on a high-profile site, leading Mechanical delivery and helping drive project excellence from start to completion.
The Role
The Lead Mechanical Engineer will provide technical leadership for the Mechanical engineering function across the project lifecycle, coordinating design, installation, commissioning, and handover activities while ensuring Dornan's vision, mission, and values are delivered throughout the project.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate Mechanical engineering activities from design through to commissioning and handover.
Provide technical leadership and resolve complex mechanical engineering issues.
Review mechanical designs to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Manage procurement activities, including technical reviews and equipment approvals.
Monitor engineering and site progress against project schedules.
Coordinate with project teams, clients, consultants, and the supply chain to ensure successful delivery.
Promote and maintain high Health & Safety standards across all project activities.
Support commissioning, project close-out, and handover activities.
Mentor and develop Mechanical Project Engineers, Graduate Engineers, and Junior Engineers.
Drive engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Act as the lead technical authority for mechanical engineering matters on assigned projects.
About You
Your Experience
Strong technical knowledge within a lead mechanical engineering role.
Good commercial awareness within construction projects.
Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
Your Qualifications
Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
Previous experience working within the construction industry.
Previous experience working in a similar role.
