As the Quantity Surveyor you will work closely with our Contract Teams, taking ownership of cost control, commercial management, and profitability across the full project lifecycle – from initial concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Manage cost planning and commercial performance across projects
Prepare, analyse, and negotiate tenders and contract costs
Monitor variations, profitability, and cash flow throughout delivery
Review contract documents to protect against risk and onerous terms
Lead on subcontract procurement, negotiation, and account management
Support tender submissions by assessing risk and opportunity
Produce commercial reports and cost-to-complete forecasts
Manage and submit variations and contractual claims
Drive value engineering and cost efficiency without compromising quality
Attend internal and external commercial review meetings
Ensure compliance with industry contracts, standards, and H&S regulations
Skills and Experience
Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role
Strong commercial and contractual awareness (NEC experience desirable)
Background in civil engineering, utilities, or M&E projects
Confident managing multiple contracts and stakeholders
Excellent numeracy, negotiation, and reporting skills
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
Proactive, organised, and able to manage workloads effectively
A clear communicator who can simplify complex information
