Tendering Engineer – Oil & Gas
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

NRL are currently recruiting for a Tendering Engineer on behalf of a leading engineering business within the energy sector. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled team supporting major projects across the Oil & Gas industry.
The Opportunity
As a Tendering Engineer, you will play a key role in producing high-quality technical and commercial proposals, supporting the full tendering lifecycle. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure submissions are compliant, competitive, and delivered to tight deadlines.
This is a varied and fast-paced role, ideal for someone with a strong engineering or proposals background who thrives in a commercially focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Review client documentation and specifications, identifying and resolving any discrepancies
Prepare, coordinate, and deliver complete tender submissions in line with customer requirements
Manage technical and commercial aspects of proposals from initial enquiry through to order acceptance
Liaise with internal departments to gather necessary input and ensure timely submission
Respond to client queries and clarifications, attending meetings where required
Ensure all tender content aligns with internal processes, standards, and design requirements
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with tender submissions
Support the handover process from tender award through to project delivery
Continuously contribute to process improvements within the tendering function
Manage multiple tenders simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detailWhat We’re Looking For
Experience in a tendering / proposals / bid engineering role
Strong technical and commercial understanding, ideally within the energy sector
Experience within subsea cables and/or offshore Oil & Gas is highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-driven approach
Competent in Microsoft Office and CRM systemsWhat’s On Offer
