CNC Setter / Operator
Location: Hertford (Onsite)
Salary: £28,000–£32,000
Type: Full-time, Permanent
My client, a well-established precision engineering manufacturer, is looking for a CNC Setter / Operator to join its production team. This role is ideal for an experienced machinist with a strong background in CNC lathes and milling machines, working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Set and operate CNC lathes and milling machines
* Read and interpret engineering drawings
* Manufacture components to tight tolerances and quality standards
* Inspect completed work and ensure accuracy throughout production
* Load and unload materials using lifting equipment
* Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient work area
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across production processes
* Work collaboratively to meet production targets and deadlines
Requirements
* Previous experience setting and operating CNC machines
* Good understanding of Fanuc-controlled systems preferred
* Ability to read technical drawings and work to tight tolerances
* Experience inspecting and measuring own work
* Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
* Ability to manage workload effectively in a target-driven environment
* Apprentice trained or engineering qualification preferred
* Minimum 5 years' experience within a machining environment
