Stores Supervisor - Engineering
Location: Cambourne - St. Neots - Sandy area - Own transport required due to location
Permanent role, Immediate Start
Monday to Friday - 39 hours per week
Start time: 07:30 AM
Friday finish: 12:00 mid-day (early finish every Friday)
Pay: £36,504 per year (£18.00 per hour)
Overtime paid at: £27.00 per hour
Engineering/manufacturing environment
Forklift licence preferred; training can be provided if required
Role Overview:
We're looking for an experienced Stores Supervisor to lead daily stores operations, ensuring stock accuracy, robust material traceability and smooth supply of parts/materials to support production. You'll supervise a small team, maintain high standards of organisation and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day stores/warehouse activities
Goods in: receiving, checking, booking in and put-away
Goods out: picking/issuing, packing and despatch support
Maintain stock control accuracy (counts, audits, reconciliations and investigation of variances)
Ensure production job kits and materials are picked, prepared, and issued accurately in line with manufacturing schedules
Work closely with Production Supervisors and departmental managers to support operational requirements and minimise production downtime
Ensure material traceability and correct documentation/record keeping
Use ERP/MRP systems to process stock movements and support planning requirements
Liaise with Production, Purchasing and Engineering to ensure materials availability
Support housekeeping and continuous improvement activities
Required Skills & Experience:
Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
Previous supervisory or team leader experience
Experience within a Stores, Warehouse, Logistics, or Inventory Control environment
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Good understanding of stock control procedures and material traceability
Experience using ERP/MRP systems
Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
Forklift Truck Licence (training can be provided if required)
Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
