Middleweight Interior Designer
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: £29-33,000
I am seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Middleweight Interior Designer to join a welcoming team based in Chelmsford. The well-established firm works across diverse sectors including hospitality, residential, and healthcare, consistently delivering creative, client-focused solutions. With a well-established reputation, they pride themselves on building long-lasting relationships with their clients.
On Offer:
Collaborative studio environment with a team of approximately 15 professionals.
Full-time, office-based role working Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Four weeks' annual leave plus bank holidays.
Additional gifted leave between Christmas and New Year.
Company pension scheme.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support interior design projects through all stages, from feasibility and concept design to construction and handover.
Develop innovative design concepts and prepare presentation materials for client meetings.
Produce high-quality technical drawing packages, including plans, elevations, sections and bespoke joinery details.
Prepare FF&E specifications, source products and obtain supplier quotations.
Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers throughout project delivery.
Attend site visits and project meetings, monitoring progress and resolving design-related queries.
Manage snagging activities and support projects through to successful completion.
Keep abreast of industry developments, design trends, materials and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Sufficient experience within commercial interior design.
Degree or equivalent qualification in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
Strong portfolio showcasing hospitality, workplace and/or hotel projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop; rendering software experience would be advantageous.
Excellent design, space planning and technical detailing skills.
Experience presenting concepts to clients and managing stakeholder relationships.
Strong understanding of FF&E specification, material selection and supplier coordination.
