The Role
As a Teaching Assistant / Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and achieve their individual goals. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals, you will provide both educational and personal care support within a nurturing, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils in the classroom and adapt activities to meet individual learning needs
Assist with sensory-based learning, communication strategies, and structured routines
Provide personal care, including feeding, toileting, and changing support
Support pupils with physical disabilities and mobility needs, including the use of specialist equipment and hoists (full training provided)
Encourage independence, social interaction, and the development of essential life skills
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Help create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where every child can thrive
About You
We're looking for individuals who are:
Caring, patient, and empathetic, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Interested in developing a career in education, care, or specialist support services
Comfortable providing personal care or willing to learn
Proactive, resilient, and adaptable when supporting children with complex needs
Strong communicators who work well as part of a team
Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to making a positive impact
Previous experience in an SEN, healthcare, or care setting is advantageous but not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
