The ideal candidate is a qualified Quantity Surveyor with experience in cost estimation, contract management, and financial control within large-scale construction projects. They hold RICS/CIOB certification, are proficient in cost management software, possess strong analytical and negotiation skills, and excel at collaborating with project teams to deliver on budget and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation & Planning: Prepare detailed cost estimates, feasibility studies, and establish budgets for proposed projects.
Contract Management: Develop tender documents, contracts, bills of quantities, and manage procurement processes.
Cost Control & Monitoring: Monitor project expenditures, ensure adherence to budgets, and provide regular financial progress reports.
Valuation & Payment: Value completed work, arrange payments, and prepare interim valuations and final accounts.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and develop mitigation strategies.
Legal & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant laws and regulations, provide advice on construction law and contractual issues.
Sustainability & Value Engineering: Promote sustainable construction practices and implement value engineering principles.
Core Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
Professional certification (RICS, CIOB, or equivalent) preferred.
Proven experience in cost estimation, contract management, and cost control.
Strong understanding of construction law and regulatory compliance.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, MS Excel).
