What you will be doing (Children's Support Worker)
Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests
Promote independence and wellbeing, within agreed care plans
Provide emotional and practical support in a residential environment
Support safety by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines
Support, overcome, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
Attend weekend and evening activities, including trips away and holidays
Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
Restraint Trained, or willingness to complete restraint training
What you need to be considered
Experience of at least 6 months working with children, or in a similar social care setting
Ability to build relationships with young people
Understanding of trauma, including the impacts of homelessness and domestic abuse
Forward-thinking approach to crisis response, staying calm under pressure
Empathetic, caring, and resilient approach
TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate, or willingness to undertake training
Full UK driving licence
Current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
