Job Title: Children’s Support Worker (Residential) - Barry
Are you enthusiastic, resilient, and driven to enrich the lives of children and young people in care? Vetro Recruitment is seeking Children’s Support Workers for children residential services based in Barry. This role offers long days, sleep ins, and waking nights, with the opportunity to make a real, measurable difference every day.
What you’ll be doing as a Children’s Support Worker in Barry
* Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests
* Promote independence and wellbeing, within a safe and nurturing environment
* Provide emotional and practical support inside the home
* Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to protect children’s health and welfare
* Support, overcome and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
* Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away, supporting the young people to access activities and experiences
* Join weekend and evening activities that reflect individual interests, helping young people build confidence and routines
What you’ll need to be a successful Children’s Support Worker
* A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
* An empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
* At least 6 months experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
* Restraint Training, TMVA (or be willing to undergo the 3 day course)
* A valid UK driving licence
* A current Enhanced DBS (on the update service) or willingness to obtain one
* The right to work in the UK

* Driving licence required, restraint training attendance required
