About the School: We are a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth, dedicated to supporting every child to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. We are seeking a committed and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join our team and provide targeted support to pupils who require additional guidance in managing their behaviour, emotions, and engagement with learning.

The Role As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils, teachers, senior leaders, and families to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and successful participation in school life. You will build strong relationships with pupils, helping them develop self-regulation skills, resilience, confidence, and positive attitudes towards learning.
Key responsibilities include:

Providing one-to-one and small-group mentoring for pupils with behavioural, social, emotional, or attendance needs.
Supporting pupils to develop positive behaviour strategies and improve engagement in learning.
Working alongside class teachers to implement behaviour support plans and targeted interventions.
Monitoring pupil progress and maintaining accurate records of support and outcomes.
Supporting pupils during unstructured times, including break and lunchtime where required.
Building positive relationships with parents and carers to support pupil success.
Liaising with external agencies and professionals where appropriate.
Contributing to the school's safeguarding and pastoral support systems.
Promoting the school's values, behaviour expectations, and inclusive ethos.The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Experience working with children in a primary school or similar educational setting.
Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
An understanding of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Experience supporting pupils with SEND, including ADHD, ASD, or attachment-related needs, is desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, resilience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team while using initiative independently.
