We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a strong HVAC background to join a facilities maintenance team supporting a critical environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking for a stable, site-based role with long-term career prospects, ongoing training, and the chance to work on complex building services systems.

The Role

Reporting into the site management team, you will be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, compliance activities, and contractor supervision across a diverse mechanical and HVAC infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with maintenance schedules and statutory requirements
• Maintain, inspect and fault-find on HVAC and mechanical building services systems
• Service and repair Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), chilled water systems, pumps, motors, valves and associated plant
• Support heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems across the site
• Carry out reactive maintenance and respond promptly to equipment breakdowns
• Diagnose faults and implement effective repairs with minimal disruption to operations
• Support the operation of Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Coordinate and supervise specialist subcontractors
• Ensure compliance with permit-to-work procedures and health and safety requirements
• Maintain accurate records using CAFM systems
• Assist with compliance inspections, audits and remedial works

Requirements

Essential

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Building Services or equivalent
• Proven experience within HVAC and mechanical building services maintenance
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, heating systems and chilled water systems
• Experience working within critical environments such as healthcare, data centres, manufacturing or similar

Desirable

• Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS)
• F-Gas Certification
• Water Hygiene / L8 Awareness
• Knowledge of compliance standards within critical environments
• Basic electrical knowledge (18th Edition advantageous)
