Monday to Thursday 8:30am-5:00pm | Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
A leading global engineering and technology company is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join its manufacturing team in Chelmsford. Working across the Aerospace, Defence, Space, Medical, Scientific and Industrial sectors, the company develops and manufactures advanced technology solutions for high-profile engineering projects worldwide.
This opportunity would suit a Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Industrial Engineer or NPI Engineer with experience supporting products through manufacture, improving production processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated manufacturing environment. Due to the nature of the company cCandidates must British Citizens.
Duties
Provide technical engineering support throughout the full manufacturing lifecycle
Support manufacturing, production and supply chain teams with technical problem solving and corrective actions
Conduct root cause analysis, fault finding and production investigations
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, productivity and cost reduction
Develop and improve manufacturing processes, assembly methods and production workflows
Ensure products meet Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) requirements
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and engineering phase-gate deliverables
Introduce new tooling, components and manufacturing processes into production
Manage engineering change processes from concept through to production approval
Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions and standard operating procedures
Support COSHH assessments, risk assessments and product safety activities
Skills & Experience
Degree qualified in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or a similar discipline
Previous experience within an electromechanical manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly and test procedures
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, Six Sigma or similar methodologies
Ability to carry out structured fault finding and root cause investigations
Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
Experience using MRP, ERP or SAP systems would be advantageous
Understanding of RF testing, high-voltage electronics or encapsulation techniques would be beneficial
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Security Requirement
