PMLD Teacher – Specialist SEND School
Location: Stratford, East London
Key Stage: KS1 – KS4
Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Contract: Full-time
Pay Rate: Competitive (dependent on experience)

We are currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Teacher to work in a specialist SEND school based in Stratford.

This role involves teaching pupils across Key Stages 1 to 4 with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), complex physical disabilities, and medical needs. Pupils require highly individualized teaching, sensory-based learning opportunities, and significant adult support to access learning, communication, and daily living activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning and delivering engaging, personalized lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with PMLD
Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes communication, engagement, and independence
Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families, and external professionals to support pupil development
Leading and coordinating a multidisciplinary approach to meeting pupils' educational, physical, communication, and personal care needs
Monitoring and assessing progress against EHCP outcomes and individual learning targets
Using a range of communication approaches, including AAC, sensory strategies, and intensive interaction
Contributing to annual reviews, reports, and professional meetingsEssential Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification
Experience teaching pupils with PMLD, SLD, or complex SEND needs
Strong understanding of sensory curriculum approaches and personalized learning
Experience working within a specialist SEND setting
Knowledge of safeguarding, behavior support, and supporting pupils with complex medical and physical needs
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to teachingThis is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND Teacher to join a supportive specialist setting and make a meaningful difference to the lives of pupils across KS1–KS4 with complex needs.
