A welcoming and supportive school in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This Learning Support Assistant role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils in their learning and helping them achieve their full potential.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide targeted support to pupils across a range of year groups and abilities. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will help pupils overcome barriers to learning while promoting confidence, independence and engagement in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant:

Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom.
Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required.
Promoting positive behaviour and engagement.
Helping to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Learning Support Assistant Will:

Have previous experience working with children or young people.
Be patient, adaptable and supportive in approach.
Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
Be confident supporting pupils with varying abilities and needs.
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
Have a fully checkable work history.
