The Supply Register is working in partnership with Sunderland College to recruit Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to support across their curriculum. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced support staff, or individuals looking to gain experience within a supportive college environment.

Whether you’re experienced in education or looking to take your first step into the sector, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting learners both in and out of the classroom.

Provide 1:1 and small group support to learners
Support students with additional learning needs and varying abilities
Assist lecturers in delivering engaging lessons
Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Support students with academic tasks and personal development
Encourage learner confidence, independence, and progression

What We’re Looking For

We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds, including graduates and those looking to move into education.

Essential:

Passion for supporting young people and adults in education
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, proactive, and supportive approach
Ability to build positive relationships with learners and staff
Desirable:

Degree or relevant qualification
Experience working with young people or vulnerable adults
Interest in teaching, SEN, or support roles
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
No prior school or college experience?
