A well-established and respected engineering business based in West Bromwich is currently seeking a skilled Workshop Engineer with experience working on AC/DC electric motors. The Role
As a Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for the service, repair, and overhaul of AC/DC motors and associated equipment. This is a hands-on role requiring strong fault-finding skills and a solid mechanical and electrical background.
Key Responsibilities
Service, repair, and rewind AC/DC electric motors
Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults effectively
Strip, inspect, and rebuild motors and rotating equipment
Carry out testing to ensure performance and reliability
Work from engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications
Maintain accurate job records and ensure high-quality standards
Adhere to workshop health & safety proceduresRequirements
Proven experience working with AC/DC motors in a workshop environment
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge
Experience with motor rewinding (desirable but not essential)
Ability to read engineering drawings and wiring diagrams
