An established engineering services business is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join its workshop team. The company works with a diverse customer base across manufacturing and industrial sectors, delivering high-quality repair, refurbishment and asset reliability solutions.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, stripping and repairing motors, gearboxes, pumps and other rotating equipment to agreed customer and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Strip, inspect and repair motors, gearboxes, pumps and rotating equipment
Diagnose faults and recommend appropriate repairs
Follow defined strip and inspection procedures
Ensure workflow procedures are adhered to at all times
Carry out and record routine plant maintenance
Complete workplace risk assessments and method statements where required
Refurbishment work including stripping, preparation and painting
Maintain high standards of workshop presentation and housekeeping
Deliver work in line with agreed timescales and quality expectations
Provide guidance and technical support to apprentices and colleagues
Attend customer sites as required
Adhere to all health & safety policies and promote safe working as standard
Work closely with customers to understand requirements and ensure satisfactionSkills & Experience
C&G Mechanical Fitting H03 & H25 or equivalent
Strong knowledge of pump fundamentals
Experience working with a wide range of pump types
BPMA qualification advantageous
Full UK driving licence
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
